Thirteen Goals for September.
Watch me fail this. :) Seriously, though, I've got some fairly serious dental surgery coming up this month, and I'm useless for anything other than net surfing for a good 48 hours afterwards, so I know that's going to crimp my plans. Hopefully, by putting this up as a list to serve as a reminder to myself of my goals and plans, I can achieve as many of them as possible.
1. Clean up my bedroom.
Doesn't really sound like much, but with the issues I have with my hands and knees, it's a major event. I have to do it in sections - one side on Monday, one side on Tuesday, that sort of thing. I want to get rid of the old PC in there and the desk, although I'm two minds about chucking out the desk. The PC can go, though. And I want to find the disc and manual for the scanner so I can sell it and get rid of that. Then against that wall, I can shove the mirror and the small cabinet I have and there's a little space for my two medieval trunks to live. This is my plan for my bedroom. Oh, and buy a new quilt, because the current one is rather threadbare.
2. Clean and rearrange my guest room.
OMG this needs to be done so badly. I need to throw out the broken tall boy because really, me, why do you cart that thing around from house to house when a/ broken and b/ it's never used? Throw it out. Throw out all the empty boxes that are piled up in a corner, throw out the wobbly CD rack that isn't being used, nail on the top of the chest of drawers by the door so it's solid, make the bed again so it works as a guest bed. Maybe put the desk from my room into the spot where the old tall boy is. That would work. I can store my suitcases and boxes of photo albums under the desk. Yeah. Good thought. Defo want this done by the time mum has her day surgery op, as she has to stay here the night of the surgery, so it would be really good to have the guest room *be* a guest room and not a room wherein things are dumped for 'later.' The later that never comes, natch.
3. Finish the intensive rewrite of Orbiting Jupiter, the story formerly known as Hopes and Expectations.
Slow going because it really is an intensive rewrite but I think it can be done. Although I'm currently at page 30 out of 97 and when I started it, it was 47K words. Now it's 42K.
4. Do more on City of Jade.
I would, ideally, like to get them into Uzbekistan. Mainly because writing never-ending desert is getting a little repetitive. There's only so many ways you can describe the desert landscape!
5. Plug the Erotica Apocrypha anthology.
Because it's going to be awesome. Seriously. You know you're curious. :) Check it out.
6. Start the Celtic/Irish story.
Yes. Yes indeed. /cryptic.
7. Op shopping!

minnie13. Thrift shopping, it's also known as. I've got ideas, people, and I need to op shop to find out if Ikea is my true love for my ideas or if the awesome finds in op shops can achieve my desires. I watch too much home renovation telly, seriously. XD
8. My barfday.
I have not, as yet, decided what all I'm doing for my birthday this year, apart from lunch with mum at one of the Korean restaurants in town, but I'm very strongly leaning towards having a dinner party at Bollywood Indian Restaurant in town.minnie13, thenightflower, spacebovine, angharad_gam, captlychee, my cousin and nieces will be kept in the loop. meredith_shayne, you in Adels at the end of Sept?
9. Gird up my loins and get that rent-to-own telly.
Seriously, me, you know your current telly is dying. You know that your digital box is also dying. You know that deal is just too good. So do it!
10. Get my ITIN.
Fingers and toes crossed!
11. Have my dental stuff FINISHED.
Oh god, this is the ultimate pipe dream. I want this done, over, finito so badly I can't even describe it. My dental torturer is lovely and does an amazing job but gawd, I'm over having my mouth and gums and jaw shoved and poked and such.
12. Get the collage up.
I got the idea to do a collage of my trip to the US and Canada as a way to memorialise it for myself, so to speak, and if the large frame in my room doesn't have broken glass, then I will get it up and done this month. Otherwise... to Ikea I go to get the frame. Yes.
13. Celebrate new releases.
Wishful and hopeful thinking! Positive thoughts can't hurt, right? Right! :D
And thus are my hopes and plans and goals for September. Along with some social planning, hahaha. :D
