This week: thirteen songs from a playlist for one of the things I'm working on. And I've chosen some of the playlist for the Archangel novel which still needs a title. I fail at titles and I can't think of anything that fits this at all. Anyhoo, here you go, thirteen songs with YouTube links. Enjoy!

1. What do I Know About Pain - Gyroscope.

2. You - The Pretty Reckless.

3. Throw Your Arms Around Me - DAAS.

4. Dancing - Elisa.

5. Mercy - Paul McDermott.

6. Ablaze - Armchair Cynics.

7. Dear God - Avenged Sevenfold.

8. Devils and Dust - Bruce Springsteen.

9. Crossfire - Brandon Flowers.

10. Carnival of Rust - Poets of the Fall.

11. Waiting - Renee Cassar.

12. Yesterday, Today, And... - Yoo Seung Jun.

13. Africa - Toto.

Carnival of Rust, awesome! I feel so validated that it's on someone else's playlist :)

Did you remember to put your link up on the T13 site?

I really like Poets of the Fall. And the vid for Carnival of Rust is *awesome*.

Um... nooo. I'll do that now! *scampers off*

Oh that's awesome! I had no idea there was an actual site. I've bookmarked it for future reference, thankee!

Glad I checked in with you about it. Being able to put up your link, visit other T13s and get return visits is what makes it all so fun! I'll keep an eye out every Thursday until you develop the habit.

Smiles,

Thank you very much, I appreciate that! I got a friend to make a LJ rss feed for their feed as a reminder, too, which is here: http://thursdayonethre.livejournal.com/profile/ and tomorrow is hopefully more relaxed so I can answer your email!

I'm looking forward to it. Speaking of more relaxed, I need to be. I just got done with the easiest edits ever,(less than 30mins), on the PsiCorps Book 2 releasing on July 4th, and I'm the one complicating things with wanting to add a new scene or two. Did I mention that PsiCorps Book 3 is due July 5 and I'm not even halfway done, let alone far enough to stop and work on a book that's already finished? I'm beginning to wonder if I know how to write without a bit of chaos and pressure behind it all. Sigh.

How do you do it?! I'd combust into a puddle of panicked goo. Mind you, the last 3 days have been an excercise in frustration - I strained my bad hand and so I couldn't use it *at all*. Which, natch, was when I wanted to write. Sigh. Stupid ligaments and joints!

Oh, sweety, I'm so sorry to hear that! Have you looked into Dragon Naturally Speaking, or some other speech recognition software? I have a friend that swears by it! It would give you a break and keep you from falling behind in whatever you wanted to get done. I know that new it can be a little expensive, but I'm sure you can find a used copy if that's an issue.

As for how I do it? I don't even know. One of my personalities must thrive on chaos. I keep thinking I should step back and aim book three for Valentine's Day, which would give me until September as a deadline, but my brain won't wrap itself around that concept. I guess we'll see.

Before I tackle my edits or deadline, I should tackle sleep. It's almost 6:30 am and I haven't been to bed yet. Off to see if Hypnos is a friend today. A good and relaxing rest of the night!

I have! I have it on the PC which is from the time when dinosaurs roamed the earth but not on the laptop, because I can't find the activation code. Thankfully this time around, I only have self-imposed deadlines, so I used the uselessness of the one limb time to do research instead. Clicking links and reading info and saving stuff for later reference can be done one-handed no problem.

I hope you have a good night's sleep - I'm about to head off to bed myself, after I watch the hilarious video of show jumping bunnies again. (Here, in case you're curious.)

How close are your self-imposed deadlines? I just got feedback tonight on a sub and I need new eyes on an erotic urban fantasy that's 100k. It's kinda killing me, because I think I might need to change the story pov from first to third. That completely throws off my other deadlines for the end of the year. Sigh. At this rate, PsiCorps 3 is not going to be a Christmas story, there's just no way. I'll have to push it out to September and try for a Valentine's Day release. Double Sigh.

Let's see. Archangels, I've given myself to the end of June for the first draft, barring health issues obviously. Bc of the three day uselessness, I think I should extend it to the 3rd July to compensate for those 3 days I couldn't write at all. Then September for the Silk Road one, although that's very ambitious, considering the amount of research I have to do. I know how that will go - I think that I've got everything I need, then something will happen and I'll have to go research it to make sure that I'm right. Gah.

July 3rd? Hmm, so then the question becomes: How fast do you read? Would 100K blow your deadline for the Archangels draft?

From: [identity profile] misslj-author.livejournal.com
Pretty fast - do you want me to edit as well? Like, put comments, etc, in via track changes?

If you're up to it, a full critique would be awesome! Two of my cps have temporarily stopped writing for different reasons and the third was just at a conference, so I'm always happy for someone else who can take a critique partner role, be it one project or long term.

If you're not up to it, then a straight beta read is fine. I'll happily take an overall assessment of: "I think it was rough in this chapter and you need to smooth out when, [insert moment of not quite awesomeness here], happens, and I was confused by [insert thing that made perfect sense in my head]"...that would still be immensely helpful.

Just so you know, I genuinely feel weepy with happiness and relief! I'm so uncertain about what to do next without feedback. It's like tap dancing on quicksand.

Although, my eye strangely stopped on what might be considered choppy sentences when I opened the document to make sure it was the right one. Maybe I just needed a bit to marinate in it and approach it from a different angle. Either way, whether revisions pour forth from me in abundance or skip and stutter, without new eyes on the project it means nothing, so thank you!

I'll attach it to my email reply before I head off to bed. :)

I totally know the feeling, believe me! It's totally cool - I won't be able to do anything tomorrow bc mum will be here, but I'll make a start on Sunday and aim to get it back to you by the middle of next week. :)

The middle of next week is perfect. It gives me the weekend to just soak in the possibilities and perhaps take a long, brave look at it. If that kicks off tonight into tomorrow, I'll send you an updated version before Sunday.

{{{Hugs}}}
