That may happen sooner than I'd have otherwise thought.

PLB got told this morning that his Dad's body is shutting down and to prepare for the end, so we're having the 'do we, or just you, or neither' come home for the funeral, whenever that happens, conversation.

His Mum is saying not to come home. Especially as she'd be bringing the ashes back here, so it's not like PLB would miss out on the important ritual aspect of things. But there's still the internal call to come home regardless.

I very much doubt that'll happen.

If this had happened years back, before PLB's brother had kids, then that might have been on the cards, but now that familial tie is definitely keeping her in Addles. Plus standard of living n all.

If we come back, I don't think it'd be for long - PLB's work is fine with taking leave, but it needs to be planned in advance; I don't think he could take a large chunk without warning. If we go. If I go... there's another possible funeral in the offing as well, my mum's been moaning about Grandma's health too.

Oy. To both. One of my friends is in ICU atm - her heart stopped for nine minutes, so everyone's freaking out, except her. She seems resigned to it, while I'm going "NINE minutes, woman, NINE. NINE!!"

Bluddy hell! What made it stop??!! How much of that resignation is lovely shiny meds? Then again, rather resignation than a panic attack - that wouldn't be helpful.

I got scared last night and had to take myself off to A&E... was cleaning up the kitchen and I lost all the colour in my left hand and it went numb on me. Totally freaked me out. By the time I was seen though, only a slight numbness remained, so was sent home again.

Been for blood samples today though.
